Refrigerated Freight
Reefer Trucking, Monitored. Los Angeles to 48 States

Temperature-controlled trucking from Los Angeles to all 48 states. Monitored reefer FTL and LTL for
food, pharmaceuticals, and temperature-sensitive goods, with continuous logging from pickup to delivery.

Temperature-Monitored Reefer Trucking

The right temperature, the whole way

Cold freight is only as good as its weakest hour. A reefer set wrong, a door left open at a dock, or an unmonitored transit gap can cost an entire load. AEEM moves temperature-controlled freight on monitored reefer equipment with setpoints confirmed at pickup and continuous logging through delivery.

From our Los Angeles base we run frozen, chilled, and controlled-ambient loads to all 48 contiguous states, from produce and proteins to pharmaceuticals and specialty goods. Full truckload when volume calls for it, consolidated reefer LTL when it doesn't. And for importers, this trucking leg plugs into our full cold chain logistics program covering port, storage, and customs coordination.

Our proven refrigerated shipping process

1. Temperature & Commodity Review

We confirm your product's required setpoint, mode (continuous or cycle), and any pre-cool or loading requirements before quoting.

2. Reefer Assignment & Pre-Cool

A temperature-verified reefer is assigned and pre-cooled to setpoint before arrival, with the unit inspected and download-capable.

3. Monitored Transit

Temperature is logged continuously and monitored alongside GPS location, with exception alerts if the unit drifts from setpoint in transit.

4. Delivery & Temperature Records

Freight is delivered with electronic proof of delivery and the temperature log available for your quality and compliance records.

Frequently asked questions

Refrigerated shipping, answered

Straight answers on temperature ranges, monitoring, reefer modes, and cold chain documentation.

What temperature ranges can you ship?

Deep frozen at -20°F for ice cream and frozen goods, standard frozen at 0°F, chilled at 33°F to 38°F for produce and proteins, and controlled ambient up to 70°F for pharmaceuticals, chocolate, and temperature-sensitive goods. We confirm your product's exact setpoint before booking.

How much does refrigerated shipping cost?

Reefer freight typically runs 20 to 40 percent above dry van rates on the same lane, driven by equipment cost, reefer fuel, and tighter capacity. Every AEEM quote is all-in, with reefer fuel and accessorials included upfront.

How do you monitor temperature in transit?

Every reefer runs with continuous temperature logging alongside GPS tracking. If the unit drifts from setpoint, our dispatch desk gets an exception alert and acts immediately. The full temperature download is available at delivery for your records.

What is the difference between continuous and cycle mode?

Continuous mode runs the reefer unit nonstop for tight temperature tolerance, required for pharma, floral, and sensitive produce. Cycle mode switches the unit on and off to save fuel, acceptable for stable frozen goods. We set the right mode for your commodity, not the cheapest one.

Can you handle multi-temperature or LTL reefer shipments?

Yes. Multi-compartment reefers run two temperature zones in one trailer, and consolidated reefer LTL is available for smaller cold chain shipments that don't fill a trailer. We recommend the right setup at quote time.

How fast can you dispatch a reefer in Southern California?

Same day on major SoCal lanes. With daily reefer capacity across Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, Orange County, and San Diego, a pre-cooled unit can often be at your dock the day you book. Expedited and team-driver options cover time-critical cold freight nationwide.
